Synopsis
Blockchain: A World of Possibilities
Blockchain is one of the hottest subjects in finance and technology world. It is almost impossible to start a conversation without hearing about blockchain. It is all just a hype? This presentation will address some of the following questions:
- Blockchain technology overview, what is blockchain briefly.
- What are smart contracts and how it all works?
- Why there is such a hype? The case for it.
- In which areas blockchain is being actively adopted nowadays? FIN examples
- Current problems of the blockchain systems and how they are being fixed.
- Potential use case for online voting

About the Speakers
Mr Roman Alyoshkin
Roman Alyoshkin is an IT leader with 15 years’ experience in the industry. He has been leading number of projects in the area of data protection, distributed storages and per to per data transfers. His interests include cryptography, math, machine learning and blockchain systems. Nowadays Roman is leading Polys project, which is a distributed and transparent voting solution with the ability to monitor and audit voting process on each stage.
Mr Timur Kildigulov
Timur Kildigulov during his 8 years old career covered multiple specialties in new media: copywriting, digital marketing, social media, product design. Studied interactive art direction and new forms of digital media in known as ‘Digital Harvard' Stockholm-based Hyper Island digital school. Award-winning designer in New York based digital agency Division Of, where he had a privilege to work with such clients as NBC Universal, New York Academy of Sciences, Genzyme Sanofi and many others. Got back to Russia in 2017 to take over product design, marketing and business development in Polys – online voting system of the new generation. Strongly believes that technologies should serve people and society to increase humans self awareness and engagement.
