CHEN Guangtai

Section Chief, Government Service Section
AFFAIRS CENTER OF GUANGDONG PROVINCIAL HEALTH COMMISSION

Intake Year: 2026 Cohort

Email: gt.chen.2026@dbatech.smu.edu.sg

My name is Chen Guangtai. I hold a clinical medicine bachelor’s degree and am a licensed practicing physician. Over the past two decades, I have dedicated myself to health communication via new media, working as a health publicity practitioner with solid medical expertise, a passion for innovation, and a core mission of popularizing health science. Back in university, I immersed myself in editorial work and served as editor-in-chief of both the university journal and the medical school newspaper. After graduation, I split my efforts between creating medical science popularization content and documentary photography for healthcare, holding key positions in multiple national photography associations. Riding the wave of digital transformation, I pioneered live streams themed on AI applications for health, with a single live session attracting over 100,000 online viewers. I have led a series of crowd-pleasing industry events including healthcare documentary photography contests and health science popularization cultural creation exhibitions. By translating obscure, specialized medical knowledge into accessible new media content well-received by the public, I make health communication engaging and heartfelt. During two major public health emergencies—the SARS outbreak and the COVID-19 pandemic—I volunteered to take frontline publicity responsibilities. I was awarded the title of Guangdong Advanced Individual for SARS Prevention and Control, as well as Hubei’s Most Beautiful Rebel Warrior. Committed to lifelong learning, I earned a Master of Public Health and am currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration and Management at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore, to continuously strengthen my integrated capabilities in medicine, public administration and communication. I have also taken the lead in building multi-tiered national, provincial and municipal collaborative platforms for health communication, serving as chairperson or vice chairperson for more than twenty national and provincial associations specializing in medical science popularization and new media communication. My long-term goal is to build a systematic, professional ecosystem for health science outreach, making authoritative, professional health knowledge accessible to all households. Over my two-decade career, I have stayed grounded and delivered tangible results. As the lead of the New Media Operation Team of the Guangdong Provincial Health Commission, editor-in-chief of multiple health new media platforms, and a special correspondent for Health News, I have provided operational support for new media accounts across the national healthcare sector, helping these platforms gain a combined follower base exceeding 100 million. I have received numerous prestigious national and provincial honors such as National Top Ten Health Communication Ambassadors and Guangdong Top Ten Science Communication Talents. I am regularly invited to deliver lectures at national government departments, top universities and healthcare institutions nationwide, delivering more than 60 sessions each year. For ten consecutive years, I have hosted the Southern Health Communication and Innovation Conference, a national continuing medical education program. I was an early adopter of artificial intelligence in government communication and health science popularization, accumulating systematic, actionable practical experience covering news planning, industry brand building, online public opinion management, and digital health communication.

HUANG Zhi

Director
SINGAPORE INHOPE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY PTE. LTD.

Intake Year: 2026 Cohort

Email: zhi.huang.2026@dbatech.smu.edu.sg

I am currently the Director and CEO of a Singapore-based information technology company. With over 20 years of professional experience, my career has spanned accounting and risk management at a global professional-services firm, listed-company supervision at a major securities market institution in China, mergers and acquisitions at a securities firm, and entrepreneurship in capital-market advisory and technology services. I previously founded and led a professional-services and technology group serving listed companies, where I worked extensively in corporate governance, information disclosure, investor relations and long-term value creation. In recent years, I have focused on developing AI-enabled solutions that make professional knowledge and decision support more scalable, consistent and accessible. My professional interest lies at the intersection of artificial intelligence, corporate governance and capital markets. My proposed doctoral research will explore how human–AI collaboration can improve the quality and efficiency of listed-company disclosure while maintaining effective human oversight, accountability and regulatory trust. Through the SMU-Fudan DBA (Tech) programme, I hope to transform my practical experience into rigorous and transferable knowledge that can support boards, professional-service firms and regulators in the responsible adoption of AI.

John TENG Chong Yong

Founder & CEO
PROPDEX

Intake Year: 2026 Cohort

Email: john.teng.2026@dbatech.smu.edu.sg

I am the founder and CEO of Propdex, a Singapore-based startup building an AI-native property advisory platform that helps consumers navigate high-stakes, heavily regulated housing decisions. Before founding Propdex, I spent more than 15 years across banking, cross-border business development, and real estate — beginning in senior relationship management and credit risk roles at international banks, then leading China expansion and M&A integration as a General Manager for businesses across Singapore, Hong Kong, and Shenzhen, and later founding a boutique M&A and SME strategy advisory. I hold an MBA from Imperial College London, a BSc in Economics and Finance (First Class Honours) from the University of London (LSE), and a Diploma in Infocomm Technology (Software Engineering) from Ngee Ann Polytechnic. My doctoral research examines trustworthy AI for high-stakes regulated consumer decisions: a deterministic-plus-generative architecture that keeps regulated computations provably correct while using generative AI to deliver fluent, accessible advice, with Propdex as the live field study. As a member of the inaugural SMU–Fudan DBA (Technology) cohort, I hope to contribute a reference architecture and governance framework that generalises beyond property to banking and finance, healthcare, insurance, tax, and legal services.

REN Yan

Director
METLIFE ASIA

Intake Year: 2026 Cohort

Email: yan.ren.2026@dbatech.smu.edu.sg

In the life insurance industry over the past 15 years across Asia, the US, and EMEA, I have started off as an actuary and have subsequently led strategic transformation across digital customer experience in health and retirement solutions, with the current focus on enterprise AI portfolio. Alongside my corporate responsibilities, I’ve dedicated my efforts, as a contributor, a founder, and an investor, across the AI communities that bring together leaders from industry, academia, startups, investors and extended stakeholders to accelerate responsible AI adoption through collaboration. What I’ve learned with my deeper dive into AI: The AI revolution is beyond just technology or tools. It is about us as humans - how judgement, trust, and how we actually work with AI in real world communities and organisations. That’s what led me to pursue a Doctor of Business Administration. My research interests sit in human-centred AI, human-AI collaboration, and our readiness for the AI era. I’m especially interested in building blocks to the paths that help communities use AI without losing human thinking and direction. The SMU–Fudan DBA sits right between two ecosystems where I call home, Shanghai and Singapore. I value learning alongside the experienced thought leaders from different perspectives, and focus on applied, real-world research. Long term, I’m committed to bridge research and practice, by leveraging AI and blockchain technologies.

WANG Jiali

Co-founder & COO
ORGRIMMAR

Intake Year: 2026 Cohort

Email: jiali.wang.2026@dbatech.smu.edu.sg

I am a serial entrepreneur and business leader with more than a decade of experience spanning media, technology entrepreneurship, digital innovation, and international business management. Over the course of my career, I have founded or co-founded several ventures and led multidisciplinary teams through different stages of development, transformation, and growth. I currently serve as the Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of a Web3 technology start-up. My work focuses on corporate strategy, organisational development, global operations, technology-enabled business growth, and the coordination of cross-functional teams across international markets. My academic background in philosophy, economics, and public humanities has shaped how I understand institutions, human behaviour, and the broader impact of technological and social change. Combined with my entrepreneurial experience, it has also led me to examine a recurring management challenge: how can leaders make sound strategic decisions and build resilient organisations when technologies, markets, and regulatory environments are changing faster than established management models? Through the SMU–Fudan DBA (Tech) programme, I hope to investigate how high-growth technology companies develop decision-making and organisational management models that enable them to scale effectively under uncertainty. My research interests lie at the intersection of strategic decision-making, organisational design, technology adoption, governance, and operational execution. In particular, I am interested in how leadership teams identify emerging opportunities, allocate resources, respond to technological and market shifts, and maintain organisational alignment during periods of rapid growth. I hope to develop an evidence-based framework that helps innovative companies remain adaptive without becoming chaotic, and ambitious without becoming fragile. The DBA (Tech) programme provides an ideal platform for connecting my practical experience as an entrepreneur and operator with rigorous, industry-oriented research. Ultimately, I hope my research can contribute practical insights that help technology leaders make better decisions and build more sustainable organisations in an increasingly uncertain business environment.

YAN Bin

President
ZHEJIANG XINYAN LOGISTICS LTD.

Intake Year: 2026 Cohort

Email: bin.yan.2026@dbatech.smu.edu.sg

Over the past 37 years since 1989, I have founded and led dozens of companies. These include Zhejiang Xinyan Logistics, Singapore YB Family Private Ltd., Zhangqing Artificial Intelligence Technology (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd., and 518 Ling Supply Chain Management (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd. My company has been recognized as one of China's Top 100 B2B Logistics Enterprises for the 2024-2026 period. My academic research is deeply connected to my business practice. My first doctoral degree, completed in 2011, focused on bionic organizational architecture, aiming to solve the issue of corporate vitality. My second doctoral degree, completed in 2024, explored the Unified Field Leadership Theory under uncertain environments, which I named "Yan Bin's U-Theory". This theory integrates Dual Strategy, Bionic Organization, and Quantum Thinking. Through the self-consistent process of these three elements, it stimulates human potential and addresses four key issues: corporate vitality, employee creativity, organizational evolution, and compliance. Currently, I am pursuing my third doctoral degree, the SMU-Fudan DBA (Tech). My research focuses on the Ecological Leadership Model for Chinese logistics and manufacturing industries "going global together". Specifically, I am developing the UAI Model (an integration of U-Theory and AI). This model aims to solve the leadership challenges in the future synergistic co-existence between human employees and AI agents.

YE Sheng

Executive Director & COO
LOGORY LOGISTICS TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD.

Intake Year: 2026 Cohort

Email: sheng.ye.2026@dbatech.smu.edu.sg

I am the Executive Director, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer at Logory Group (02482.HK), where I lead the development and implementation of digital transformation strategies to enhance operational efficiency, organizational agility and data-driven decision-making across China's logistics and freight ecosystem. With over 20 years of experience spanning software engineering, platform economics and corporate governance, I specialise in transforming technology capabilities into sustainable commercial value through successive business model innovations. My background in chemistry and computer science from Nanjing University provided me with a strong analytical foundation in complex systems, which I now apply to advancing digital platforms, data assetization and AI-native organizational transformation within the industry. A key focus of my work has been the development and evolution of Guanchebao, China's first logistics SaaS software, into a network freight platform achieving RMB 30 billion in annual transaction volume. I have pioneered the deployment of AI digital humans—such as "Tingjie"—through the AIBP (AI Business Partner) framework, integrating artificial intelligence into core business processes to support predictive operations and strategic decision-making. These initiatives have enabled the company's successful listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange as the "First Digital Freight Stock," supported the establishment of data products on the Beijing International Big Data Exchange, and drove the formulation of industry standards for digitalized transport service delivery. My strategic research focuses on developing intelligent and AI-native approaches for organizational transformation and data monetization. I am particularly interested in how AI agents can integrate multimodal operational data, reshape enterprise operating models, explain business insights and recommend strategic actions while maintaining effective human oversight and governance. Through my work, I aim to develop practical and trustworthy AI-enabled organizational frameworks and data assetization strategies that improve operational reliability, governance standards and sustainable competitiveness within logistics and platform economies, with the potential for application across other asset-intensive and service-oriented industries.
