The SMU-Master of IT in Business (MITB) Fast Track Programme welcomes promising SMU undergraduates to pursue a Bachelor's degree and Master of IT in Business (MITB) degree concurrently within SMU.

The new MITB Digital Transformation (DT) track equips graduates with the blend of information and communications technology (ICT) knowledge and skills to strategise and execute digital transformation for a complex organisation in a rapidly changing environment.

Global Impact Scholarship Award - This scholarship is awarded during SMU Undergraduate admissions.

Admissions Processes
1A. Entering Students
Students should apply via the undergraduate admissions process for the Bachelor Programme first (recommended that you apply for BSc (Information Systems), BSc (Computer Science), BSc (Computing and Law) or BSc (Software Engineering) programme. 1B. Current Students
Second-year students (preferably from our school) and has attained a cumulative GPA of ≥ 3.40* are welcome to apply for the MITB Programme here at end of Year 2.
You should aim to commence the MITB Programme latest by Year 4 Term 2.#

* Recipient(s) of Global Impact Scholarship Award are required to have attained a cumulative GPA of ≥ 3.60
# Recipient(s) of Local Fast-track Scholarship should aim to complete the MITB Programme within 4.5 years, so it is recommended that you commence MITB Programme latest in Year 4 Term 1.

Please note that the $100 application fee will be waived for Global Impact Scholars and SCIS Local Fast Track Scholars. Scholars can submit their applications as per normal and skip application fee payment by selecting “other payment mode” option at the application fee payment page
For self-funded students, you will be eligible for the following discounts:
- SMU Alumni: S$5000 discount off total tuition fees (AY2023-24 intake and onwards)
In addition, students with excellent academic results may be offered a MITB Scholarship.
- For undergraduate scholarship recipients, please email to scis_ugrad@smu.edu.sg to check. Recipient(s) of Global Impact Scholarship Award will also have to inform Centre for Scholars’ Development (CSD).
Pre-requisites
It is recommended that students intending to apply for the MITB Programme under fast track are enrolled in BSc (Information Systems) or BSc (Computer Science) or BSc (Computing and Law) or BSc (Software Engineering) Programme.
Global Impact Scholars with Information Systems as a 2nd major may be considered on a case-by-case basis during the MITB Programme application.
Cumulative GPA required: ≥ 3.60 (for recipients of the Global Impact Scholarship Award) or ≥ 3.40 (for all other students).
3. MITB Fast Track Programme matters
MITB course exemptions
Students can choose to transfer up to 4 CUs from undergraduate programmes to MITB (course exemption), so remaining CUs for MITB Programme is minimum 11*.
Pre-requisite for course exemptions = Minimum B (and with Cumulative GPA ≥ 3.0) for each course to be exempted

MITB Fast Track Routes
Integrated (i.e. do MITB concurrently with undergraduate programme) and students can start applying for MITB Programme at the end of undergraduate Year 2 (latest before Year 4 Term 1).
This applies to:- Students who are self-funding the MITB Programme
- Recipients of the Global Impact Scholarship Award or SCIS Local Fast Track Scholarship
Sequential (i.e. do MITB after undergraduate graduation) and students should apply within 5 years of graduating from undergraduate programmes.
This is applicable only to:- Recipients of Global Impact Scholarship Award

MITB course delivery
- Full-time candidature (12 months) or Part-time candidature (24 months).
- All MITB courses are run in the evenings during weekdays (7 p.m. to 10:15 .p.m.), and Saturdays’ mornings (8:15 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.) and afternoons (12:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.).
