SMU Associate Professor of Information Systems (Practice) Tan Hwee Pink and Academic Director of SMU-TCS iCity Lab Tan Hwee Pink was interviewed by Channel NewsAsia about SMU’s partnership with Tata Consultancy Services Limited (TCS). Using Singapore as a test market to pilot concepts for intelligent cities around the world, TCS and SMU have created an IT solution to monitor the well-being of elderly in Singapore, empowering them to live independently through the use of analytics and multi-sensor technology, “The collaboration between SMU and TCS dates back to August 2011. Back then, the intention was to leverage on TCS’ strength in IT solutions with SMU’s strength in management to create a platform that can deliver citizen-centric services to make cities more intelligent,” Associate Prof Tan said.
