Welcome to the School of Computing and Information Systems (SCIS) at Singapore Management University!

Established in 2003, SCIS is a dynamic school that is constantly seeking to uplift our research and education. We are passionate about our research. We aim for excellence both in fundamental contribution to academic knowledge, as well as in creating technology with practical impact. Our faculty are several world-class scholars and rising stars in their respective disciplines. Our research portfolio is well aligned with Singapore's national initiatives like Smart Nation, Cybersecurity and Urban Management, and includes a number of well-funded projects in our focus areas. SCIS regularly collaborates with many government agencies and leading industry players.

We take pride in our students, as we see them learning and maturing in our transformative environment and going on to establish fulfilling careers and contribute back to society. We offer a suite of exciting undergraduate degree programs.

  • Our BSc (Information Systems) degree teaches students to identify emerging technologies and market trends, exploit opportunities to digitally transform an organisation, and develop applications that harmonise with the overall IT infrastructure.
  • Our BSc (Computer Science) degree emphasises strong technical skills in translating scientific principles to usable computing technologies and solutions, as well as the management skills needed to navigate complex software development and system deployment concerns.
  • Offered in partnership with the SMU Yong Pung How School of Law, our BSc (Computing & Law) degree equips students with the skillsets to protect technology innovation, comply with pertinent legal and regulatory requirements, as well as manage the technology and business risks posed by innovation.
  • Our BSc (Software Engineering) SkillsFuture Work-Study Degree is co-developed and co-taught with industry partners. This programme incorporates a 52-week apprenticeship in a software development team, and is designed to train students for professional careers in software engineering.

For students who wish to pursue further studies, we also offer highly regarded postgraduate research and professional degree programs.
