Figures show that more new students are enrolling into information technology and engineering courses

This year, SMU has increased its intake for Information Systems undergraduates, from 310 to 400, so as to meet future demands from the labour market for talent in information technology. SMU Provost and soon-to-be President of the University, Professor Lily Kong pointed out that despite the decline in the number of polytechnic and A-level graduates, the University has seen an 8 per cent increase in number of applications compared to the last year. She also reported a 34 per cent increase in the number of applications for Information System courses
