Singapore seeks enhanced role as high-tech hub

According to a study by SMU, and in partnership with JPMorgan, electronics and electrical engineering – the largest component of Singapore’s manufacturing base – are among the sectors facing a skills gap. The report stated that the skills shortage “is set to widen as Singapore moves towards an innovation-driven economy, especially in newer engineering fields like robotics and digital manufacturing.
