In an interview with CNA938’s Doing Good, Feeling Good, SMU student leaders Masliana Noorazman (SOSS) and Estrella Kwok (SCIS) shared how giving back is ingrained in SMU’s culture. Estrella has been leading projects such as Project Candela 4 and Project Rhize 3, and continues to champion environmental education by engaging industry professionals on climate issues and raising awareness of biodiversity. Mas is a leader of Project Candela 3, and champions social diversity, equity and inclusion by fostering belonging across social circles, communities and workplaces, while also bridging gaps between Singaporeans and migrant workers to strengthen social cohesion. Both student leaders highlighted that experience is not just about giving but also about gaining new perspectives, deeper empathy and a renewed sense of purpose.
