In an interview with Money FM, BSc (Information Systems) student Jayce Lye shared that to know what one wants in life, one has to rigorously pursue different options and experiences. Jayce mentioned that the US is at the forefront of the topic of artificial intelligence (AI) safety and security, adding that working overseas is a natural way for him to gain exposure and work on something he’s passionate about. On the rising trend of overseas internships, he noted that entry-level jobs are more demanding now because AI can handle much of that work. He added that overseas internships are a way for students to differentiate themselves, noting it is good for people to experience work outside of Singapore to see how people in other cultures work.
