About the Talk
In today's interconnected digital landscape, security is paramount, and SSL certificates play a pivotal role in safeguarding our online experiences. Join us for an informative and engaging discussion as we explore the intricate world of SSL certificates.
We will delve into the fundamental aspects of SSL certificates and their components. Next, we'll explore a variety of SSL certificate types that cater to different security needs, such as wildcards for multiple subdomains, SAN certificates for various domains/subdomains in one, and self-signed certificates for local network security. Our SSL certificate exploration wouldn't be comprehensive without addressing certificate errors. We'll cover various SSL certificate errors, including expired certificates, invalid hostnames, and untrusted certificate authorities.
By the end of this talk, you'll gain the knowledge needed to discern secure websites from insecure ones, empowering you to make informed online choices and understand the "why" behind digital security.
