About the Talk
The rise of generative AI is driving a paradigm shift in data valuation. While discriminative models treat data as static assets valued by annotation quality and feature distinction, generative AI demands a new core concept: the "creative value" of data—its potential to inspire models to understand, compose, and create. To capture this, we propose a three-stage "Data-Model-Application" framework. It evaluates data’s latent potential, its collaborative role in training, and its traceable impact in generation and reuse. This approach lays the foundation for a sustainable and equitable data ecosystem in the age of generative AI.
