At the Awards Presentation Ceremony, Director of the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Professor Arcot Desai NARASIMHALU shared that the competition is aimed at getting people excited about creating companies that are innovative and hoped that the competitive will add value to the participants. He also shared his views about the lack of entrepreneurial activity in Asia.
The 7th Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition, organised by the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (IIE) at SMU, drew to a close on August 23 after months of intense competition, which attracted more than 336 tertiary students from 28 countries and regions who submitted 121 business plans.
Team HealthyCaps from Bangladesh’s University of Dhaka emerged as winners and took home US$36,000 after beating five other finalists to the top prize.
