77 SMU Postgraduate Research Programmes (PGR) students attend a ‘Get-together’ session

The PGR ‘Get-together’ dinner session was held on 23 August 2013 at SMU. The event gave students an opportunity to interact with those from other disciplines. By bringing them together, the PGR students were made aware that they are part of a larger student research community. We hope that this first step will enable cross-school research interactions amongst the students. The students also mingled with key faculty and administrators running the PGR programmes.

The Academic Year 2013-14 SMU Presidential Doctoral Fellowship awards were presented by Professor Steven Miller, Vice Provost (Research) at the event. The students were encouraged to share such research achievements and even publications with the PGR office so that these could be publicised on the SMU PhD microsite.

The PGR team also presented its first video featuring successful job placements of SMU PhD graduates. The video will be made available for viewing on SMU’s PhD microsite soon.
