EFMD Case Writing Awards 2015

SMU has set a new record with three awards clinched in the EDMD Case Writing Competition organised by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). The winning SMU cases were co-authored by a combination of case writers from the Case Writing Initiative driven by the SMU Centre for Management Practice (CMP), as well as faculty, staff and industry partners. SMU bagged three awards out of 17 in total in the most recent competition. The winning cases included “Manila Water: From Privitisation to Sustainable Growth” (Inclusive Business Models category, co-authored by former CEO of Human Capital Leadership Institute Kwan Chee Wei, SMU CMP Senior Case Writer Christopher Dula and SMU CMP Case Writer Zack Wang); “SimplyFlying: Making a Great Idea Take Flight (A) and (B)” (Entrepreneurship category, co-authored by Academic Director of SMU Executive Development Dr Michael Netzley, Senior Case Writer Adina Wong and Robert Speculand); and “The Senior Citizen Home Safety Association: Enabling Active, Ageing-in-place in Hong Kong” (Urban Transition Challenges new category, co-authored by Adjunct Faculty at SMU School of Information Systems Alfred Wu and SMU CMP Senior Case Writer Christopher Dula).
