Young Singapore Entrepreneurs

Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at SMU Director and Professor of Information Systems (Practice) Arcot Desai Narasimhalu was interviewed for Channel NewsAsia’s “Spotlight” segment, about young Singapore entrepreneurs who are beginning to make waves in the international scene. Several have been named in Forbes 30 under 30 Asia, which lists the up and coming entrepreneurs 30 years or younger across different sectors. Prof Narasimhalu shared his views on what drives millennial entrepreneurs. He noted that millennials are a lot more confident in trying things that may have a chance of failure, on top of being more expressive. He also observed that they are pursuing something that is very close to the heart. “They are touched by their personal experiences, and translating their personal experiences into innovative companies,” added Prof Narasimhalu, who went on to explain that it is not as much about just making money, but also the desire to solve some social problems.
