SMU Professor of Information Systems and Director of Secure Mobile Centre Robert Deng was a panellist on the 6th season of Channel NewsAsia’s flagship discussion programme, Perspectives. On 13 March 2017, SMU hosted the second episode of Perspectives and the topic “Cybersecurity: Enhancing Safety Online” featured a panel of four experts. They argued that fostering a shared sense of cyber-responsibility and vigilance was key to reaping the fruits of a digital future. Panellists considered how Singapore could do this and concluded that regional and international partnerships were the way to go. “It’s everyone’s responsibility and public-private partnership is very important,” said Prof Deng, adding that separation of Internet and internal systems was one way to go.
