In an interview by Japan's Asahi Shimbun on Singapore’s Smart Nation Initiative, SMU Professor of Information Systems and Director of Fujitsu-SMU Urban Computing and Engineering Corp Lab Lau Hoong Chuin shared one of the projects in collaboration with Fujitsu and A*STAR involving the use of Artificial Intelligence to offer real-time personalized recommendations to participants after a large event to ease congestion. He said, “If you offer the same advice to everyone, it only causes more congestion. AI can prescribe an optimal match (according to individual preferences)."
