Speaking at a recent panel discussion on a cashless society for the SMU-Channel NewsAsia's Perspectives programme, SMU Professor of Information Systems Robert Kauffman said he sees 'cashless' as a centrally technology-assisted payment system where we do not have to worry about the mechanisms of transacting as there are various mechanisms to support that. Prof Kauffman suggested that cashless will rule the economy when multiple providers of cashless services come together and the stronger starts dominating.
