SMU Assistant Professor of Information Systems (Practice) Tan Hwee Xian, a founding member of the Assisted Living Facility Association, has done research on using technology to enable ageing-in-place. "For several years, we have been talking about having better aged-care options," she said "I think it is time we start to seriously consider ALFs (assisted living facilities) and so an association is important at this point in time, as everyone can have differing perceptions and possibly misconceptions of an ALF," she added.
