Fujitsu to tackle urban logistics challenges in Singapore

The president of Fujitsu Ltd, Mr Tanaka, announced that Fujitsu would place its development of the most advanced IT services in Singapore. In April, research on logistics optimisation systems in collaboration with the local government will commence, with trials on truck delivery planning involving the Info-communications Media Development Authority. [This effort is spearheaded by Fujitsu-SMU Urban Computing & Engineering Corporate Lab led by Professor of Information Systems Lau Hoong Chuin]. The idea is to automate the computation of sequence and scheduling of deliveries that will improve the efficiency of several logistics providers to more than 10 shopping malls.
