Eye on A.I. — Why You Should Be Concerned About China's Gains in Artificial Intelligence

Salesforce has opened a new R&D Centre focusing on AI in Suntec City. The centre is the company’s first AI research centre outside of their R&D hub in Palo Alto, California. The founding Managing Director of this AI R&D Centre is Dr. Steven Hoi, an AI & Machine Learning expert, who was an Associate Professor of Information Systems at SMU before taking on this role as the head of this Salesforce R&D lab. As part of their AI R&D efforts, the firm will be training students from SMU, NTU and NUS from August this year. Students will be trained in areas that include deep learning, machine learning, and natural language processing.
