Beware! Waving your hands in pictures may result in fingerprint theft

At a recent conference on information security and cryptography, SMU AXA Chair Professor of Cybersecurity Robert Deng revealed that findings from his earlier research had shown that by using personal photos that were posted online, 70% of the accounts were successfully unlocked using facial recognition. According to Prof Deng, this means that some facial recognition systems remain unsafe, and may be abused by hackers.
