Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organisation, and SMU announced that the SMU-TCS iCity Lab's SHINESeniors project has won Constellation Research's 2019 SuperNova Award in the AI & Augmented Humanity category. TCS and SMU have been partnering since 2011 to enhance and broaden multi-disciplinary academic research efforts in digital technology to create innovative, technology-enabled solutions to overcome emerging urban challenges. The SHINESeniors project by the SMU-TCS iCity Lab was a successful, three-year-long pilot project that used sensors and digital technologies for non-intrusive monitoring of elderly individuals in over 90 homes to provide personalised and sustainable care, empowering them to lead dignified and independent lifestyles.
