SMU School of Information Systems alumna Clarissa Goh is currently the Chief of Staff at Mighty Bear, a Singapore-based studio building multiplayer online mobile games. She shared that back in university and at work, there is generally a trend of fewer number of females studying and working in the information technology (IT) sector. She noted that in the typically male-dominated IT industry, males have dictated the industry culture as well as the type of behaviour deemed acceptable, and jokes that are usually not taken seriously amongst them, may be viewed as discriminatory or inappropriate, when a female is present.
