Engendering trust in an AI world

Speaking at a conference panel on 'AI and Data Protection: New Regulatory Approaches', SMU Associate Professor of Law Warren Chik gave his perspective on how to conceptualise trust in a digital age. In his talk titled 'Artificial Intelligence and Data Protection in Singapore: Consumers' Trust, Organisational Security and Government Regulation', Assoc Prof Chik explained that to engender trust in a digital solution, it is crucial that users are being engaged on the issues involved. Moderated by Deputy Dean of the SMU School of Law and Professor of Law (Practice) David Llewelyn, the roundtable featured speakers including SMU Associate Professor of Law Yip Man (whose paper was presented by SMU Associate Professor of Law (Education) Alvin See on her behalf) and other academics and experts.
