Congratulations to MITB Student, Tristan Lim and Director of SMU MITB Financial Technology & Analytics Track, Patrick Thng on winning the best paper award (runner-up) at the 11th Annual International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management in Singapore held on the 7th to 11th March 2021.
The Industrial Engineering and Operations Management conference was attended by preeminent scholars including President of SUSS, the respective department heads and/or representatives from NUS/ NTU/ SMU/ SUSS) and industry participants from over 60 countries, receiving over 700 paper submissions. Post the academia peer-review and judging panel process, IEOM has decided to award the duo: 2nd place, Graduate Paper Competition Award sponsored by EATON Corporation.
The FinTech paper titled: Outsourcing Life Cycle Model for Financial Services in the FinTech Era offers an implementation of an end-to-end outsourcing life cycle model, which can be utilized by financial institutions, FinTech companies and Tech companies embarking in the offering of financial products and services in the FinTech era. The graduate paper was written to fulfil Tristan’s capstone requirements at SMU MITB.
This best paper award, selected among hundreds of high-quality academia peers, provides confidence in terms of the quality of research in which Tristan is striving towards, and is a testament that SMU students have the ability to produce quality research in the academic and industry community.
