Weeding out inequality in Singapore’s digital skills education

As the adoption of new technologies surged over the last few years, companies have had to acquire the right talent with the skill sets to support and work with the technology. This rise in demand for digital skills shows no signs of abating. A report by SkillsFuture Singapore found that the demand for digital skills, such as software testing and user experience design, has doubled over the past four years. Sujith Abraham, Senior Vice President and GM, Asean, Salesforce, discussed how the inequality in Singapore's digital skills education can be weeded out. He noted that structured and close collaboration between the public and private sectors is one way to provide students and graduates access to new strengths. For example, Tableau works with SMU, NTU, and Nanyang Polytechnic to equip students with data analytics skills training in their curriculum modules, and hands-on learning experience with free Tableau desktop licences.
