Making artificial intelligence work for sustainability

In a commentary, Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) Chief Artificial Intelligence Scientist and NTU President’s Chair Professor of Computer Science Ong Yew Soon and Dr Lim Keng Hui, Executive Director of A*STAR’s Institute of High-Performance Computing provided their insights on how artificial intelligence technologies can be applied to meet sustainability demand. They shared about working towards greater data use efficiency through a three-year research programme led by A*STAR in partnership with local institutes of higher learning such as NTU, NUS, SMU and SUTD. Under the research programme, researchers in Singapore are working on different fronts to make AI more sustainable.
