SMU alumnus and digital analytics consultant Robert Sim received the Wikimedian of the Year award on 6 August 2025 from online encyclopaedia Wikipedia. The award was presented to Robert by Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales during the annual Wikimania event, held in Nairobi, Kenya. His key achievements include updating the “Index of Singapore-related articles”, co-creating the Wikimania conference in Singapore in 2023, and becoming one of English Wikipedia’s now-837 administrators in 2024.
