SMU SCIS alumnus Robert Sim was named as one of the finalists for The Straits Times Singaporean of the Year award, organised by The Straits Times and presented by UBS Singapore. Robert was presented with the Wikimedian of the Year award by Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales at the annual Wikimania conference, in recognition of his extensive voluntary contributions to Wikipedia. Robert explained that he contributes to the site not for material reward but for intrinsic satisfaction, finding personal fulfilment in contributing content and supporting community outreach.
