SMU Associate Professor of Computer Science Zhu Feida commented on the rise of AI technology and its governance, stating that it is a vast topic with many sub-issues, such as privacy and security, fairness, transparency, verifiability, and ethical concerns, including the challenge of "value alignment". Assoc Prof Zhu highlighted that decentralisation and democratisation of AI are important, suggesting that AI should not be limited to a few companies or countries but should instead serve all of humanity.
