SMU Associate Professor of Computer Science and recipient of the Aptos Move Professorship Zhu Feida, said that the era of anonymous-by-default Web3 is over, and real assets, regulated stablecoins, and artificial intelligence (AI)-driven financial flows now require real identity, traceable money, and verifiable counterparties. He emphasised that without these foundations, institutions and regulators cannot participate at scale, adding that trust-by-design is becoming the prerequisite for Web3's mainstream breakout.
