SMU alumna (BSc (Information Systems), 2019) and Singapore actress Chantalle Ng has taken in a dog named “Jeong” (also called “情”) that was rescued from a Korean dog meat breeding facility, where it was reportedly just steps away from being slaughtered. Chantalle is actively seeking a permanent adopter for the dog, but said she may keep it herself if no suitable home is found, highlighting her continued advocacy for animal rescue and adoption. Chantelle shared that she once aspired to become a veterinarian but gave up the path because it required five years of overseas study, and she was reluctant to leave her mother. She later enrolled in the SMU to study the Bachelor of Science (Information Systems) instead.
