SMU Vice Provost (Research) and Lee Kong Chian Professor of Computer Science Archan Misra and Professor Liming Chen from Centrale Lyon are co-leaders in a significant new four-year research project, Embodied AI for Human-Robot Collaborative Task Execution, launched by CNRS@CREATE. This initiative marks a major milestone in Franco-Singaporean scientific collaboration. The project unites leading research institutions from France—including CNRS, Centrale Lyon, Université de Montpellier, Centrale Nantes and ENSTA—and from Singapore, including SMU, NUS, NTU, and A*STAR. The research aims to develop essential capabilities for human-robot collaboration, with a particular focus on robot-assisted maintenance and repair of complex industrial equipment.
