About The Talk

The intersection of information technology (IT) and healthcare has given rise to transformative changes in the way individuals seek and access medical information and services. Understanding the roles of these functions enables us to harness the full potential of digital health technologies and further improve online healthcare efficiency, which is crucial for the continued development of the whole healthcare ecosystem. My dissertation proposal delves into the effectiveness of IT-enabled services in online healthcare communities. The first study focuses on the effect of pre-consultation by assistant physicians on online healthcare service efficiency and satisfaction. The second study examines the impact of online follow-up services during the post-consultation stage on physicians’ online consultations and offline appointments. The third study tries to capture the casual relationship between online service reviews written by patients and online physician performance.
