2025 Test of Time Award
was awarded to:

at the 34th ACM International Conference on Information and Knowledge Management (CIKM2025) for the paper, “Detecting product review spammers using rating behaviors”.

The Test of Time Award is given for CIKM papers published at least ten years ago, and that have had an important and sustained impact on the research community. Each year, only 1 or 2 papers are selected for the award.

at the inaugural SMU Alumni Awards 2025 on 12 November 2025 at SMU Hall, with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam as Guest of Honour. 

Launched in celebration of SMU’s Silver Jubilee, the SMU Alumni Awards marked the University’s highest recognition of alumni achievement. To be conferred every five years, the Awards honour SMU alumni and associate alumni who have distinguished themselves through professional excellence, innovation, and service to society.

was awarded to:

from ACM Special Interest Group on Software Engineering (ACM SIGSOFT), at the 40th IEEE/ACM International Conference on Automated Software Engineering (ASE 2025), for the paper, “Seeing is Fixing: Cross-Modal Reasoning with Multimodal LLMs for Visual Software Issue Repair”.

ACM SIGSOFT Distinguished papers are given to at most 10% of the papers accepted at an ACM SIGSOFT-sponsored conference.

SCIS Outstanding Instructor Award for AY 2024/25

Our instructors play an important role in our undergraduate and MITB education. They complement our faculty, by bringing industry-based software technology skills and experience to our course designs, case studies, labs and projects. 

The SCIS Outstanding Instructor Award is created to recognize excellence among our instructors.

The SMU Teaching Excellence Awards recognise and celebrate the significance of teaching as a complex and multi-faceted profession. SMU Core Curriculum Teaching Excellence Award 2025 (Capabilities Pillar) Winner

SMU CIS which oversees the SMU Core Curriculum, has established these awards to recognise outstanding faculty members and adjunct instructors who have demonstrated excellence in teaching and a strong commitment to student learning within the Core Curriculum. Each academic year, awardees are selected for each of the three pillars of the Core Curriculum - Capabilities, Communities and Civilisations. Recipients of three consecutive teaching awards are inducted in the Hall of Fame.

This is best paper award for the annual international workshop on computational transportation science. One of the most prestigious conferences on transportation intersects with optimization and computing.

was awarded to:

at the 25th IEEE International Conference on Software Quality, Reliability and Security (QRS 2025) for the paper, “Deep Learning for Just-in-Time Defect Prediction”.

The award is given on a ten-year basis to authors of papers published at QRS ten years ago that were judged to have the greatest impact on the theory or practice of software quality, reliability, and security in the ten years since its initial publication.
