Developing business process management systems for companies to “trim down” and save money

SMU School of Information Systems graduate Hansel KE is the founder of Open Business Solutions, a local start-up and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software service provider. He started the company in 2012 after he found out that the ERP software offered by other providers are overly expensive and complicated for small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The company currently offers the service through monthly subscriptions. Hansel said there are challenges in hiring staff as the company may not be as attractive to fresh graduates as big corporations, and they introduce training and internship programmes to uncover talent. The company now has a young and dynamic team, and Hansel hopes to develop a larger SME customer base within the next three years.
