Universum surveyed over 10,000 students from the six major universities in Singapore, namely NUS, NTU, SUTD, SIT, SMU and SUSS between October 2020 to March 2021. The research focused on students’ views on career preferences, expectations and employment related drivers. Of the 100 most attractive companies for Gen-Z students, government-backed A*Star beat out tech giants Google and Apple as the top employer of choice for students in the engineering and natural sciences industry. According to Universum, more students are considering a career in e-commerce on the back of the industry’s success over the past year despite the pandemic.
