Lee Kuan Yew Fellowship for Research Excellence
Founded in 2001, the award is given annually to outstanding SMU faculty based on their research performance in the previous year.
Nominees are evaluated based on the originality of projects, research track record, importance of research findings, multidisciplinary nature of projects, ability to attract the interest and collaboration of faculty from world-class universities.

IEEE TCSE Distinguished Service Award 2021
from the IEEE Technical Council on Software Engineering (TCSE) in 2021 for providing outstanding and extensive service to the software engineering community in his many roles in major software engineering conferences (such as ASE, ICPC, ICSME, and SANER) and journals (such as co-EiC Journal of Software Engineering Research and Development, AE of IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, Empirical Software Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Reliability, Automated Software Engineering, Information and Software Technology, and Journal of Software: Evolution and Process). This is one of the two most prestigious service awards in the field of Software Engineering.

at the ASEAN-India Hackathon, for a, “browser-based AI instead of traditional AI models which require data to be processed by servers on the cloud or more powerful machines. Our lightweight models allow us to run them on smartphones and laptops which lack powerful processing capabilities and may not be connected to high-speed internet.”.
