Artificial intelligence in government, education and healthcare - Current landscape and future potential

SMU Academy Executive Director Dr Lim Lai Cheng commented about the current state of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and what it entails to take AI from the lab to real world applications and how it is on the cusp of revolutionising areas as diverse as security, finance, transport, healthcare and government service delivery. Dr Lim shared SMU’s perspective and how it started by commissioning a service chatbot for all its courses. However, he added that there is still a gap between expectations and reality and noted that it is not good enough to be deployed yet.
